Before Surgery: General Instructions
You must have had your PRE-ADMISSION TESTING completed within 14 days before your scheduled surgery date.
You should also have been seen by your primary care physician.
No eating or drinking from midnight the clay of your surgery.
Do not take any aspirin or aspirin products 10 days prior to your surgery.
Please avoid: Advil, Alka-Seltzer, Anacin, Ascriptin, Bufferin, Cope, Darvon compound, Dristan, Excedrin,
Fiorinal, Midol, Motrin, Nuprin, Sine-Aid, Sine-off, Percodan, Triaminicin, Vanquist.
If you take daily medication such as blood pressure medication, oral hyperglycemic medications, heart
medications, seizure medications, thyroid medication, insulin, etc., please check with your medical doctor
on how to take your medication the day of your surgery.
If you have any doubt about any medications, please check with the prescribing physician.
Please do not drink any alcohol two (2) weeks before surgery.
Arrange for transportation to and from the hospital. You will not be able to drive yourself home.
Please take a shower and wash your hair before coming to surgery. Please do not wear any make-up, lotion,
moist hair spray or perfume.
Please leave all jewelry at home.
Please inform your physician about any change in your medical status since your last office visit.If
you develop a cold or other illness before your surgery, please notify our office.
The office will contact your insurance company for any pre-certifications needed for the surgery. |
